Camp War Eagle provides year-long internship program experiences for students who have recently graduated. All internship positions are full-time, paid opportunities, and
housing is also included.
Internships are available in the following programs: Staff Recruiting, OZONE, Community Engagement, and Maintenance. Recruiters travel to colleges & universities to interview prospective students for summer positions. OZONE interns help direct OZONE, our year-round camp program. Community Engagement interns help with outreach to families and the community of Northwest Arkansas. Maintenance interns help with the up-keep of our camp facilities. Our interns also have important roles that assist in the summer program planning.

Community Engagement Intern

The Amazing Camp War Eagle Community Engagement/Groups and Retreats Internship is an integral part of camp and is a position designed for one who can help plan, organize, and implement the Camp War Eagle camper recruiting strategy. This position will have a focus on relationships within the community and partnering with local organizations to recruit campers for camp. This position will also assist the groups and retreats director in implementing and running retreats.

Head Wrangler

The overall responsibility of the Head Wrangler is to help facilitate the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Camp War Eagle Barn. The Camp War Eagle Barn is home to approximately 18 horses, which are used for both Horsemanship classes and Trail Rides. Each summer, Camp War Eagle hires up to 4 college – aged young people to serve as wranglers. Camp War Eagle wranglers have the unique opportunity to use their horsemanship skills and work ethic to serve the overall mission of Camp War Eagle.

The responsibility of the Assistant Director of Community Engagement (ADCE) is to build and support Camp War Eagle’s relationships with NWA school with the goal of creating advocates and leveraging the strength of CWE in the local community. The ADCE will do so by focusing on the following goals:
Strategically grow the number of CWE advocates (School Ambassadors) by focusing on enlisting the input and involvement of educators, colleagues, and community leaders.
Identify and implement opportunities for CWE to engage the local community.
