The Camp War Eagle Mountain Biking staff is an integral part of camp and is a position designed for individuals who have a passion for mountain biking, enjoy being active outdoors, and are willing to love and have fun with campers 24 hours a day. Mountain Biking staff members should have previous experience in riding a mountain bike and be comfortable with leading and instructing campers on trails. Experience with bike handling, trail safety, basic bike maintenance, and coaching riders of varying skill levels is helpful, for this position.
Mountain Biking Counselor duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Directly responsible for the Mountain Biking program area at Camp War Eagle, as well as other supervisory responsibilities for campers throughout the day.
- Being the lead instructor for the Mountain Biking program area in the Camp War Eagle program.
- Refereeing or Coaching Team Competition as needed.
- Supervising the Mountain Bike program area during Mish Mash (campers’ free time)
- Supervising activities during Special Events as needed.
- Responsibilities between sessions related to Camper travel (assisting the Top Staff as needed).
- Holding all staff accountable in policy enforcement and assisting Camp in abuse risk prevention
- Responsible to Camp War Eagle Associate and Assistant Directors
