NATURE CENTER COUNSELOR Camp War Eagle

NATURE CENTER COUNSELOR

THE CAMP WAR EAGLE NATURE CENTER PROGRAM IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF CAMP PROGRAM. IT IS ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO HAVE FUN AND TEACH CAMPERS ABOUT THE OUTDOORS. WE WANT TO HELP CAMPERS DEVELOP A LOVE FOR NATURE AND CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT.  THEY SHOULD HAVE A SERVANT’S HEART, AN UPBEAT ATTITUDE, AND FIND JOY IN TEACHING OTHERS.

The Nature Center Counselor is different from our regular Counselor position. A typical day is:

  1. 8:00AM to lunch: In the nature center teaching classes, taking care of animals, facilitating activities
  2. 2:40PM to dinner: Either overseeing the nature center during Mish Mash (camper free time), or functioning as a counselor with your assigned campers. Your day would be split in half, the first half in the nature center, and the second half as a regular counselor
  3. When not fulfilling Nature Center duties, Nature Center counselors assume the responsibilities of a full-time counselor with their assigned campers, as well as participate and lead nightly activities with them

We do our best to accommodate any practicum/internship requirements. Contact Dale Timmerman for any information about our Nature Program at 479-751-8899 ext. 4020 or [email protected]
