Wrangler Counselor

The Camp War Eagle wrangler position is designed for those who love working with horses, love children, and who have a strong work ethic.

Daily Wrangler duties include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Daily feeding and care of the Camp War Eagle horses. Duties include stall cleaning, providing clean hay and water 24/7, grooming, tacking, and other duties as assigned. 
  2. Responsible for safely teaching various horsemanship and riding skills to campers. 
  3. Leading and participating in daily trail rides.
  4. Typical Wrangler day at the barn: 7:00AM – 5:30PM (varies)
  5. When barn duties are complete, wranglers assume their role as a counselor in the cabin to which they are assigned for all nightly activities

Additional details

  1. Must be willing to complete a 4 day Certified Horsemanship Association Seasonal Staff Certification.  (Provided at camp during orientation.)
